The sword – “Vaal”, worshipped at Muthireri kavu in Wayanad is brought in a procession to Kottiyoor. Its only after arrival of this sword of the mighty goddess at “Ekkere” that people observing “Neyyamrith” ‘vratham’ step on to “Akkere Kottiyoor”.
